About Me
and about my cards
The last few years have been unlike any others in our lifetime. I, like many, needed to make some significant life changes. Nature Art Cards came about when I turned my attention to two of my passions - nature and photography. On a bit of a whim, I had some of my photographs printed into cards. Pleased with the outcome, I continued to create and photograph. In 2022, I became a small business owner when Nature Art Cards LLC was formed. I relish the joy of creating images that celebrate the beauty of the created world - from the vibrant colors of the fall leaves to the intricate designs of seed pods to the wildflowers I forage while walking in the woods.

Why create cards? I grew up in a time when cards marked every important occasion in life. Cards were given in thanks, in sympathy, in celebration, and just because. Homemade cards were my favorite! I have always found the act of sending and receiving a card to be meaningful. When sending cards, I spend time thinking of the receivers - what type of card would be appreciated, what can I say to be encouraging or bring a bit of kindness and friendship to their day. Life slows down as it takes time to write out a thoughtful message. Such a different act than sending a text or email! To be on the receiving end of a card is a joy as well, knowing the sender took the time to think of me.

I make each card with the hope that the receivers will know that the senders paused in the day and took time to think of them in a meaningful, significant way. I hope the receiver will hesitate to throw the card into the recycling bin, hesitating because the image on the front is different, special, and beautiful. Perhaps the receiver will set the card on a desk, a bookshelf, or a side table just to look at it a bit longer and think about the friend who sent the card...

With Nature Art Cards, I hope to revive this art of the handwritten note.... one card at a time.
